1. One scene that has some lighting and color is when Frank is on the boat to New York and the ocean is a goldish color and the lighting in the scene is bright and sort of gives a sense of accomplishment. Another scene is when Frank is walking home and the scene seems cold, sad, and discouraging. The final scene i noticed is when the family goes to church, the scene looks like a happy place to be, because you can get away from their house and go somewhere were they can have a bit of relief from there troubled lives.
2. Some Symbols and Motifs in this movie was like the rain, their was rain in every sad scene or in any scene that try to show a sort of sadness or gloomy feel. Their was also the very little sunlight in some scenes like at their home their hardly ever any sunshine, throughout the movie their is hardly any sunlight.
3.I think that Franks family shaped his identity in a negative yet also in a positive way because his mom taught him in the movie to appreciate what you have and, don't worry about what you don't have. They also shaped it in negative way because his father was an alcoholic and he always went home drunk and set a bad example.
4.I think every family is unhappy in their own way when there unhappy because everyone has different problems.
