Lighting and Setting in Angela's Ashes

The lighting in the film is very dark and depressing. During the funeral scenes, the characters are all wearing dark clothing and the background is dark while their white faces stand out. It is constantly raining in the film and there is frequently dark clothing and dark backgrounds.
